LaReta Brinkerhoff LaReta E. Pearce Brinkerhoff was born in Southern California, and is the oldest daughter of 10 children. Mrs. Brinkerhoff attented college at Brigham Young University where she obtained a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Music and Art and where she enjoyed traveling with the program bureau singing group"The Sophomores." 1961 was a busy year for LaReta, She married Gary Brinkerhoff Feb.4th, graduated in June, and their first of eleven children was born in December. She loved being home, but substituted and ended up teaching a third grade in the Provo School District. Her family moved with Skaggs Drug Stores to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Littleton, Colorado, and finally back to Utah (Pleasant Grove) where they have since resided. Gary passed away on May 30, 1998, during Mrs. Brinkerhoff's first year teaching at American Heritage School. Mrs. Brinkerhoff is actively involved with the Eagle Forum. Her favorite subjects are History/Government, and Literature. She enjoys putting on a Shakespeare play each year with her eighth grade scholars, who she finds to be exceptional thespians.
