Julie Proud grew up in the high Uintah Mountains on a cattle ranch where she learned the 'law of the harvest.' Taylorsville has been her home for the past 20 years. Her family consists of five beautiful children: one boy and four girls. Mrs. Proud has taught her own children at home for 14 years and has tutored many others. She looks forward each day to learning and growing along with her students, and becoming more like her Savior as she teaches.

One of Mrs. Proud's favorite things to do is to travel, especially to historical sites. She is passionate about history and loves learning about this beautiful world God has given us. She has worked as a docent at This Is The Place State Park as a 'living history reenactor.' That is a fancy name for dressing up as a pioneer, spinning wool and cooking in Dutch ovens (in 100 degree weather) while people watch and ask questions. She also enjoys literature, music, and cooking for family and friends. Her greatest joy comes from her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. __________________________________________________________________________
